GRE is a Test which is not related to any Discipline. GRE Test is taken to evaluate a Student’s skills.GRE allows Universities to choose the Aspirants from various Backgrounds based on GRE Scores.

In India, GRE Test is conducted in the Cities like Chennai, Banglore, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad and so on. Basically GRE is a Computer is a Computer Based Test but Some Cities conducts Paper based Test.

1)   When will I have to provide the LOR? Is it during the Application process??

LOR or Letter of Recommendation needs to be provided during the time of admission along with all of your other documents. The LOR is your first chance at proving your worth to the admission committee of the University you’re applying to before they get to your Statement of Purpose or SOP. The LOR can be written by anyone who knows you well enough and is aware of your virtues, skills and abilities. It can be your professor or HoD of your department, your project guide or in case you are a working professional you can get it from your Manager. HR or Team Lead. It should state enough reasons as to why you are the perfect fit for the particular course thus highlighting your passion for the field and your future plans and desires. The university will mention the number of LORs needed, but if it’s not mentioned you should get at least 3-4 LORs to be on the safe side.

2)   What are Ivy League universities?

Ivy League Universities are a group of 8 private institutions namely:
Brown University
Columbia University
Cornell University
Dartmouth College
Harvard University
University of Pennsylvania
Princeton University
Yale University

These universities are associated with academic excellence and social pride, getting admits from the likes of these universities is a matter of achievement and bragging rights! While the term Ivy League originates from the athletic leagues in which these 8 universities used to take part in, such as rowing, basketball, wrestling and baseball now it’s synonymous with academic prowess. Some even say that the name is derived from the ivied walls of these prestigious universities that have been in existence for a long time now. Student bodies are supposed to have an Ivy day too, planting ivies as a sort of maintaining the custom. With steep acceptance rates, renowned alumnus the likes of many US presidents (for eg. Barrack Obama and George Bush), state of the art R&D facilities and top notch faculties, it’s a dream come true for most MS aspirants to land an admit from one of the 8 Ivies.

3)   On the test day it’s everything about my anxiousness, how can I control that?
It’s a 3 Hour 45 Minutes exam, so being anxious is fine as long as it does not harm your performance. The best solution is to take at-least 4 Full Length Adaptive Tests before your actual GRE. This helps you to manage your anxiousness during the exam also the scores you get have an accuracy of +3 or -3 with the main GRE.
